Skin Cancer Screening

Tratos

Skin cancer screening itself is not a treatment but rather an early detection measure. If suspicious lesions are found, further diagnostic tests such as biopsies may be performed, followed by appropriate treatment modalities like surgery, radiation therapy, or topical medications.

Preguntas más frecuentes

  • How often should I get a skin cancer screening?
    • The frequency of screenings depends on individual risk factors and should be discussed with a healthcare provider. Generally, annual screenings are recommended for individuals at higher risk.
  • What should I expect during a skin cancer screening?
    • During a screening, a healthcare provider will visually examine your skin, looking for any abnormalities or suspicious moles. They may also use a dermatoscope, a handheld device that magnifies and illuminates the skin, to examine lesions more closely.
